Proposed Mont. Amendment That Would Have Defined Person As Beginning At Fertilization Fails

A proposed antiabortion amendment to Montana Constitution that would have defined a fertilized human egg as a " person " failed to gather enough signatures to be placed on the November ballot, Montana'sNewsStation. com reports ( Montana'sNewsStation. com, 6/25 ) . The proposed amendment would have defined a person as " a human being at all stages of human development or life, including state of fertilization. '

Montana state Rep. Rick Jore, state's only Constitution Party member, in November 2007 submitted language for proposed antiabortion initiative to secretary of state's office. According to Jore, measure wouldn't have directly outlawed abortion but would have established constitutional rights for a fetus or human embryo so they couldn't be deprived of " life, liberty and property " without due process of law ( Daily Women's Health Policy Report , 1/3 ) .

To be placed on November ballot, initiative required signatures from 44, 000 registered Montana voters. Supporters of the amendment gathered less than 22, 000 signatures, the Montana'sNewsStation. com reports. Opponents of measure said the proposed initiative would have complicated health care for all women ( Montana'sNewsStation. com, 6/25 ) .

Alprazolam: helpful modern medicine.

uses of Alprazolam

Alprazolam is used to treat the panic and anxiety symptoms associated with panic disorder. Alprazolam belongs to a class of medications called benzodiazepines which act on the brain and nerves ( central nervous system ) to produce a calming effect. It works by enhancing the effects of a certain natural chemical in body ( GABA ) .

how to use of Alprazolam

Take Alprazolam by mouth once daily usually in morning; or as directed by your doctor. Alprazolam should be swallowed whole; do not crush or chew tablets.

Alprazolam may cause dependence, especially if it has been used regularly for an extended period of time, or if it has been used in high doses. In such cases, if we suddenly stop Alprazolam, withdrawal reactions including seizures may occur while use Alprazolam. Report any such reactions to your doctor immediately. When stopping extended, regular treatment with Alprazolam, dosage should be gradually reduced as directed to help prevent withdrawal reactions. Consult your doctor or pharmacist for more details.

Though it's very unlikely to occur, Alprazolam can also result in abnormal drug-seeking behavior ( addiction/habit-forming ) . Don't increase your dose, take it more frequently, or use it for a longer period of time than prescribed. Properly stop the medication when so directed. This will lessen chances of becoming addicted.

When used for an extended period, Alprazolam mayn't work as well and may require different dosing. Talk with your doctor if this medication stops working well.

Inform your doctor if your condition persists or worsens.

side effects of Alprazolam

Drowsiness, dizziness, headache, tiredness, clumsiness, decreased interest in sex, decreased appetite, nausea, constipation, or joint pain may occur while use Alprazolam. If any of these effects persist or worsen, notify your doctor or pharmacist promptly.

Remember that your doctor has prescribed Alprazolam because he or she has judged that the benefit to we is greater than risk of side effects. Many people using Alprazolam don't have serious side effects.

Alprazolam may make we dizzy or drowsy; use caution engaging in activities requiring alertness such as driving or using machinery. Avoid alcoholic beverages.

Caution is advised when using Alprazolam in elderly because they may be more sensitive to its side effects, especially loss of coordination and drowsiness.

Alprazolam isn't recommended for use during pregnancy due to the potential for harm to an unborn baby. Consult your doctor for more details.

Alprazolam passes into breast milk and may have undesirable effects on a nursing infant. Therefore, breast-feeding while using this medication isn't recommended. Consult your doctor before breast-feeding.

Tell your doctor or pharmacist if we take drugs that affect the removal of Alprazolam from your system ( CYP 3A4 substrates, inhibitors and inducers ) such as:

Tell your doctor or pharmacist if you take drugs that cause drowsiness such as: antihistamines that cause drowsiness ( e. g. , diphenhydramine ) , anti-seizure drugs ( e. g. , carbamazepine ) , medicine for sleep ( e. g. , sedatives ) , muscle relaxants, narcotic pain relievers ( e. g. , codeine ) , psychiatric medicines ( e. g. , phenothiazines such as chlorpromazine, tricyclic anti-depressants such as amitriptyline ) , tranquilizers.

Check labels on all your medicines ( e. g. , cough-and-cold products ) because they may contain ingredients which cause drowsiness. Ask your pharmacist about safe use of those products.

Cigarette smoking decreases blood levels of this medication ( through liver enzyme induction ) . Tell your doctor if you smoke or if we have recently stopped smoking because your dose may need to be adjusted.

Don't start or stop any medicine without doctor or pharmacist approval.

missed dose of Alprazolam

If you miss a dose Alprazolam, take it as soon as you remember. If it is near time of the next dose, skip the missed dose and resume your usual dosing schedule. Don't double dose of Alprazolam to catch up.

storage of Alprazolam

Store Alprazolam at room temperature ( 77 degrees F or 25 degrees C ) away from light and moisture. Brief storage between 59-86 degrees F ( 15-30 degrees C ) is permitted. Don't store Alprazolam in bathroom. Keep all medicines away from children and pets.

Properly discard Alprazolam when it's expired or no longer needed. Consult your pharmacist or local waste disposal company for more details about how to safely discard your product.
